The daily Kolkata-Phuket flight will complement the airline's 11 weekly services to Bangkok, bringing the total number of weekly flights between India and Thailand to 93. Phuket, Thailand's largest island, is famous for its pristine beaches and vibrant cultural scene, making it an attractive destination for travelers. The visa-free entry for Indian citizens further fuels demand for travel to the region, and IndiGo aims to tap into this growing interest by offering affordable, punctual, and seamless travel options.
Strengthening Regional Tourism and Trade
The Kolkata-Phuket route is expected to enhance travel convenience, particularly for tourists from Eastern India, who will now have easier access to the island paradise. The new flight also strengthens trade, commerce, and tourism ties between India and Southeast Asia. Kolkata, known as India’s first metropolitan city and a major regional hub, is enhancing its infrastructure to meet the increasing demand for international travel. With this expansion, IndiGo continues to support the flourishing tourism sector while promoting regional economic growth.
